  • Looking for UCO lantern oil insert

I’ve been wanting one of these for years, but they’re no longer available. Anyone have one they’d like to sell?

I made a bunch of candle/oil lamp conversions from copper plumbing and a bit of soldering.

The lantern isn't shown here but one of them, I think the one at the front of the first picture, was to fit a UCO type lantern and it works well.

I have one you can have if I can find it. No charge but you’d need to pay shipping.

I knew I had seen this, but it took me a while to find it.

Tystdöd's UCO candle lantern oil insert (whiteblaze.net)

I know you found one, but somebody else might come along looking for more ideas someday.

I know someone that makes oil inserts for UCO lanterns, very good milled quality at a reasonable price. If you are interested in an insert, send me a PM and I will let you know how to get in touch with him. -- Jason

I've seen similar to Wayland's invention, but the best I saw had a tiny pinhole right at the base of the small tube so you could insert a pin or similar into it to adjust the wick length.

I was planning on making my own oil inserts until I found the ones I ended up purchasing. Those that I found appear to be milled on a machine and the seller has oil inserts for the regular UCA lanterns and smaller ones for the mini candle lanterns too. He also has other gadgets for the lanterns such as an adapter to screw the lantern onto a gas canister so you can use it as a stand, or replacement lantern bottom caps that allow you to screw your lantern onto a camera tripod.

Thanks for the info, all! I was able to purchase as used one from Bothwell V, but have a couple of friends who'd be interested in the inserts you mentioned, CampingND. Feel free to shoot me the info. Thx.
