Would there be someone here looking to sell a Snowtrekker Minimalist or or Solo tent, or something similar? And hopefully a matching stove?

I‘ve got an 8’x10’ tent, but with the coronapocalypse staying in a tent with the grandsons can’t happen,,, I’ll need a separate tent.

If you're just looking for a tent for yourself for this season, until the pandemic social distancing thing is over then consider this. Pomoly makes a canvas solo hot tent. It is quite reasonably priced. You'll have to figure out a stove solution yourself. They also sell titanium backpacking style stoves with the roll up pipe.

That is probably enough,,, depending on the weather I suppose. Might be a little difficult to hang things to dry, or a little tight for cooking... I suppose a fella could build a small cooking/warming fire in front of it during the day,,, Whelen-esque style, then use the stove for heating at night... Interesting tent though,,, thanks...

That Pomoly tent looks interesting. I don't know how well their cotton/polyester mix breathes, may not be any advantage over a coated lightweight nylon.
It needs some panel pull outs guy lines on the side, like a Snowtrekker, otherwise the sides will flap. It has loads of doors but if you dig the snow flaps in you won't be able to open them. I also don't like that big long horizontal seam across the top of the tent. I generally try to avoid this as they are a potential leak spot. If you look back at the old Whelen pictures all the seams run vertically. It can make construction more expensive but it's a better method.
Regardless, it's nice to see an alternative to a pyramid. Adding some more poles to make a pair of internal A frames would a simple option and help get a tighter pitch. If you are prepared to look at nylon tents take a look at some of the pyramids, lots of made in the USA options by SeekOutside, Oware or Mountain Laurel Designs or cheaper nylon tents from Nature Hike or Luxe.

I have a Sierra Designs Mountain Guide Tarp Tent,,, (say that 3 times fast),,, and a Bear Paws Design stove jack for it... Just always been hesitant to put the two together and try it as a hot tent... Moisture control seems like it would be a worry...

I would try what you got at least to gauge what is workable for you. Personally with a stove I would not worry about moisture management and that's coming from using a silpoly tent from 5c down to -28c

IMO I see the Pomoly tents and Ti stoves as great mid entry gear for the price but not as a long term investment like a Snowtrekker tent and Seekoutside Ti stoves or a four dog Ti stove

You are right of course... Most likely I’ll try the Sierra Designs tent and a stove before investing a lot in something I might use only infrequently.

Hi Haggis. Nice to see a familiar name from the old site. I have a very nice 4.5 ounce cotton sailcloth tent that was originally made by Tent Smiths. I added an external Easton aluminum frame that could easily be cut down to become an internal frame ala Snowtrekker. I recall the internal measurements are 9x7, with a 6'+ center height. Has a stove jack for a 3" pipe. As I recall just the tent weighs 12 lbs, and the frame is 5 lbs. Total weight of tent and frame was 17 lbs. I've attached some pics. Let me know if you have an interest and we can talk price. Sorry, I'm fresh out of small stoves.😁
