  • New Birch Bark Puukko

I built this puukko on one of the blades I picked up from Jamiah Mahoney (subtleforger.com) at the Winter Camping Symposium. He shared a lot of great information with me, as did Paige May (wildernesseffects.com), who was generous enough to send me the birch bark for the handle. They team up to make some fantastic blades, both for the woods and the kitchen, so be sure to check out their stuff.

Beautiful knife & sheath. Those tools will serve you well for years to come. May you enjoy many adventures ahead with them at your side; or around your neck (LOL).

That's all for now. Take care and until next time...be well.

      Very nice knife and sheath!
I've used and owned an embarrassing number of knives in a wide range of materials. But a birch bark handle remains my favorite handle material by a wide margin.

This is sweet. Birch bark handles are a ting of beauty!

That they are! It's on it's second sheath already. I liked the fit of this one, but not the finish. I like the finish of the second one, but not the fit. I guess the third time's a charm...
