  • Preferred Bow Saw Blade

What's your favorite bow saw blade?

For me I just use a bahco blades. They're tried and true for industrial use and so far they've performed well in the field. I prefer a peg tooth non raker blade.

Hey, Bahco are great! I picked up an old 30" Sandvik blade last winter at an antique shop - had a worn paper wrapper, but brand new blade inside (oil on it still). What a laser...
For the northwoods, it's non-rakers for me too. Have tried both and I find losing the rakers much more efficient in dry conifer wood, as the literature often suggests. Always 30", too... but that's another discussion!

It's hard finding the sandvik blades anymore. I believe they quit making them. Sandvik makes good cutting tools.

Really hard to find 30" Sandvik blades. I moved to Bacho and have been happy with those.

Not to derail this topic. The lack of good quality bow saw blades is one of the many reasons I prefer to use a coarse cut carpenters handsaw for my winter camping firewood processing needs.

          Cheers
