  • New hot tent conversion

I added a snow cloth and a stove jack to a Big Agnes Yahmonite 5. Too much time on my hands.

Looks like a great update to your shelter. I had sidewalls added to an old Mega-Mid I owned about 5 years ago and it really helped. Eventually I gave it to a young family who wanted to get started with hot tenting as it became an extra shelter for me. Hopefully your new addition will please you when you get it out in action.

That's all for now. Take care and until next time...be well.

Cool! Tipi tents always have a special place in my heart due to their simplicity. Nice looking mods, thanks for sharing.

        Looks great!

Have you got any way to adjust the size of the top vent? Sometimes getting a lot of fresh air through your tent is a way of reducing the moisture in the air, and the condensation on the inside tent walls.

Sometimes adding another zipper pull so you can open the top foot or two of the door while keeping the bottom closed can add needed ventilation.

I wish I could use the "extra time I have on my hands" as productively as you have!!

I sewed one shut, and the other one is stuffed shut with an old piece of fleece. I might sew that one closed and just use the top of the door opening as a vent. I was willing to experiment with this tent because I was able to buy two of them brand new for $125 each. It takes some of the risk out of it.

Where did you ever find a deal like that?

I think that it was marketplace or craigslist.
