Got a pair of those green AF Mukluks for a snowshoe trip in northwest Wisconsin this winter. I wear a size 10 on a good day so bought the medium sized ones. I can put on thick wool socks, wiggys lamilite socks, wool liners, and cinch those laces down and there's a ton of leftover room in the footbox. Is that normal? I'm worried about the excess room and my foot sliding all around in there, while towing a sled. Any recommendations? I've lived in crazy hot climates most of my life so winter mukluks are a new concept to me.

That’s does sound a little bigger than desired, even though winter gear should fit like a car in the garage, as the old adage goes. Maybe someone smarter than I will have a good solution for ya.Comment

I have the Air Force Mukluks and they are loose as well. Do you have the wool liner that pairs with them?
For mine, I added two felt inserts on the bottom to take up some space and use the liners from my old sorel winter boots. With this combination, things seem to fit reasonably well.Comment

I did get the medium wool liners, and I have 3 sets of felt inserts. Seems like the more inserts I put in, the more they slide over each other and the more my foot moves. I'm anticipating blisters and general dismay. I was thinking maybe some kind of heel wedge that takes up excess space in the back. I dunno I'm at a loss on sizing.Comment

Update, I ordered Wiggys Sun Walker liners and they take up all the excess space. A pair of lightweight socks and I'm all set.Comment

Even better update, fleet farm was selling kamik synthetic liners for 10 dollars, I grabbed 2 pairs in size 12 and they're about as perfect as military surplus stuff can get.Comment
