  • Four Dog Mule #001.

My Four Dog Knico "Mule" in action on its maiden voyage. We cooked breakfast and dinner on top of the stove, and coffee and cocoa water. The stove works great. Dampered down for the night it put off heat almost all night long while burning off. No smoke whatsoever inside the tent when feeding it. A large improvement from my modified Guide Gear. This is a great offering from Four Dog Stove, at least for us. It kept us warm and cooked great. I'd highly recommend if you want a lightweight stove that works, and titanium isn't in your budget. This stove simply rocks. I highly reccomend Four Dog Stove.

I like it. I did the same thing to my Kni-co stove a few years ago. This stove needed it. Dang good combination for the money. Thanks for sharing.

Haven't seen this model. Do you have to call and talk to Don about getting this model. I'm not really in need, just curious. I haven't visited with Don is some time all though I do drive by his place several times a month.

Glad I'm not the only one who is confused. I looked on their website and didn't see anything listed under that name. Can you share what makes this a good upgrade? I'm not really in need of a new stove but it's always nice to know about what's out there so you can share the information with others.

That's all for now. Take care and until next time....be well.

          Hi,

I'm missing something here. Is the Four Dog the tent or the stove? I'm relatively new to hot tenting so this might be a dumb question, but we have a Kni-Co Alaskan which looks very similar. Just looking to see what everyone else is doing and if i can pick up any mod. tips.

The ground cloth did catch my eye though. Can i ask what you used as i'm assuming it's a heat shield of some type to prevent melt.

          Thanks,

its not a dumb question at all. "Four Dog" is a stove company, Four Dog stoves. They build high end steel and titanium camping wood stoves. The "mule" is a collaboration with kni-co and Four Dog.

I believe this combo features a false bottom & baffle.

I don't think it's on their website. Although I remember reading something about it from them...but I can't remember where.

The baffle might be the most important piece of the hot tent stove.
