Recently I’ve been looking around the net a foldable titanium stoves. It seems they all run straight flue pipes. I didn’t see any that had 45 or 90 degree sections available. An I missing something?

I couldn't find any from any of the camping stove manufacturers. Not saying that they're not out there but I'd imagine the cost would be pretty high for the weight savings of a galvanized pipe.

With such a short section like an elbow their would be a tiny weight saving in using titanium. Use a galvanized one. It will likely be 30 gauge, they are pretty flimsy but provided you don’t step on them they work fine. Check it fits your stove though. What size is your pipe? If it’s less than 3” the only option for an elbow would be muffler pipe.

I hear ya. I’ve been looking unsuccessfully for a dedicated elbow that fits my rollable stovepipe, too. The ones that Winnerwell and Pomoly sell are for their slightly larger sectioned stove pipes.

          Gents,

The reason you can't find a 90-degree (or 45 deg) Titanium elbows is cost, regardless of pipe diameter. If you did manage to find one, it would be so expensive that no one would buy one.

I'm in the process of manufacturing my own line of Titanium stoves, including the nesting pipes and elbows. The cost of Titanium (raw materials) has skyrocketed thanks to Covid. Prior to the pandemic, the cost of Titanium was already horribly expensive. A very specialized product that's for sure.

Bothwell has it right, I went through the same thing. 2.5 or 2.5" muffler pipe was just about right for a 45 degree elbow for my needs though this year I have a muffler flex pipe in the same two diameters, but have only tried it in testing as so far there is NO winter in the NE USA where I recreate.

Will be very interested in following your plans as they happen. I put off purchasing a Ti stove for a few years based on the need (both perceived and real) for my applications needed a bend to get the angle I felt was necessary for good draw and to keep sparks to a minimum... In a Ti stove, a properly diameter sized adjustable angle could be galvanized metal for 85% of the buyers... a small part a bit heavier but hardly to ruin anyone's sled load.

Good info. I didn’t mean I was looking for a titanium elbow. My stovepipe and stove just happen to be titanium. I just meant I haven’t sourced a dedicated product (titanium or otherwise) that fits the smaller diameter of rollable stainless steel and titanium stovepipes. I suppose the logic holds either way: limited demand for a specialized product means high prices on both ends. The other options mentioned seem solid and I’m looking forward to seeing if I can make that work. I’d be mostly car camping with the tent I’d like it for, so weight wouldn’t be a real issue.

Would you not require 2 smaller pieces of a folding chimney if you had an elbow as well?

I’ve wondered that, too, but it looks like for my particular application , I could run the elbow directly from the damper collar on my Winnerwell stove. I don’t have a foggy clue how adding angles to a stovepipe affects draw, though. My biggest concern is supporting a very thin walled titanium roll up chimney on a more horizontal plane. I’m guessing it may be prone to buckling more easily under heat. 🤔
