  • BWCA winter use trails

Does anyone know if dogs have been running on the winter use trails on Moose Lake to Splash, Ensign and beyond? How about Snowbank to Disappointment Lake? BWCA slush conditions?, cuz they’re awful on the Iron Range right now, got my toboggan and snowshoes slush sucked this weekend.

    Gunny,
The Winter Camping Forum over at BWCA.com keeps pretty up to date on winter conditions up there. https://bwca.com/index.cfm?fuseactio...ion=enterForum

As of last weekend, there was slush on most of the larger entry points. Fall lake, Snowbank, Moose all have dog trails so far. Not sure about others. Last report form my guide friend on Saturday, Jan 2nd.

I just got back from the bwca. Entry point 51. Significant slush on every lake, holes too.
