Sad News in the Winter Camping community

It is with a heavy heart that we share that one of our regular attendees, at The Winter Camping Symposium, has passed away. Robbie Pfister, 34, passed away due to cancer. He is survived by friends, family, and his wife Keri. Robbie usually was set up back by the climbing tower and always had a smile to share. He was always looking to learn new information, and share the experience he had. We will be setting up a tent in memorial for Robbie this year. We invite you to stop by and pay your respects. I’m in shock hearing this news. I enjoyed Robbie’s company at the WCS. He was always cheerful, and willing to share his great hot tent cooking. My condolences to his family.

I'm sorry to hear of this loss. While I never met Robbie, I'm sure his death will leave a large hole in his inner circle. Please know you and his family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks for sharing this, we had setup near him the last few years at the WCS. Really the nicest guy ever and none of us had any idea he was sick. Always ready to share a story, a tip, or a sip of something tasty. Our thoughts with his loved ones and his family. He will be missed.

sad to hear. Despite the recent increase in winter camping the WCS community is still pretty small and we are mostly only one two steps removed from each of the other members
