Nebraska is probably the first place you think of when it comes to winter camping. 😏 Nonetheless, I love deep snow, long nights, crackling fires, and the peace the winter woods bring. I've gotten some good friends hooked as well and have broken them in on several trips to the North Shore (the Cabin Camp at Tettegouche is our absolute favorite), remote hike-in yurts in Colorado, and now this year they have their own hot tent and stove. I've only recently gotten into hot tenting after 25 years of wandering the winter woods cold camping. While I prefer to make my own traditional wood, wool, and waxed canvas gear, I use a silynylon tipi with titanium wood stove. Someday I'd like to add a canvas hot tent to the kit, but will need a bigger 'boggan and stronger back! Anyway, very glad to be here amongst y'all here. There are many names and vendors I recognize, and I'm excited to learn and share.

Hi there, I drove through your state this past summer on my way to visit our daughter in Colorado. Lovely campground off a nice wide river. If I recall correctly they had those air propeller float boats. Like the ones I saw in Florida.
I recently picked up a One Tigris teepee with a Winnerwell ti stove. Have me a snowtrekker canvas tent with long toboggan but I wanted something lighter for quick overnights. Plus my back and legs aren’t getting stronger.
enjoy tripping.Comment

Yes that was the place. The campground also had trains converted into rooms to rent. Big area.
funny but I couldn’t figure out what the heck was making that sound. Of course my site was on the River side. They had a big storm there they said years ago and eroded a ton of land into the river. I actually stayed there again on my return trip.Comment
