I was lucky enough this past Winter, to help guide a group of military veterans into the BWCAW for a Winter camping trip. Slim lake is a short pull from the entry point, but offers great views, and a Wilderness experience. This was a long weekend, that reached highs in the low 40F's, crazy warm for a trekking trip. This event is put on by the charitable organization, Band of Brothers Outdoors. A rewarding trip in so many levels. I was so happy to be able to share my love for the Wilderness, and offer some good nature therapy. Cheers to Wilderness!!

That looked like a blast!!!! Beautiful weather almost too warm. Great trip for a greater cause.

I did a winter camp on Slim Lake in 2017. Parking was a bit of a challenge, but otherwise it's a great winter destination. For better or worse, we had a lot of daytime skier traffic as a trail system loops through the lake.

At least it makes for a good packed trail. Not much for privacy though.

Slim was a perfect lake for first timers in my opinion. Trails to ski, fish to catch, and close enough to town in case it got weird......i mean weirder than normal!! 😂😂😂

Thanks for your help in guiding the group. I'm sure they enjoyed benefiting from your skills and knowledge of winter camping. Must have been a blast; even if the temperatures were a bit on the warm side.

That's all for now. Take care and until next time...be well.
