I've never used a cold handle skillet before. Do they work better than a lodge spun steel skillet? I don't think I've ever seen those in a store.

I don't have recipes for these, but by far, my favorite things to have while winter camping, are chili, and bannock. (Not necessarily in the same meal, though, that would work, too!) I make the chili ahead of time and freeze it, then let it thaw (if possible. Haha). And with bannock, mix it up together in baggies before heading out and just add water when Im ready for it. Num num num.
anyone have the best sausage gravy recipe to share??

Maybe a thread for good chili recipes... making some today. Using a mix and cubed beef. And BANNOCK... ! In some quarters, just the mere mention of "Bannock", will start the equivalent of a range war... (a soft water paddling forum, ...)
